The Future Requires Authenticity

This was a week of connection and inspiration for me. It was great to listen to a lot of interviews, (e) meets with new like-minded friends, and to really hone into the discussion of what business might begin to look like in the near future. I wanted to finish the week with some of my favorite quotes of the week and an inspiration board from a decade that I often dream about… The 1960s.

I chose to end the week with the 1960s because it was a decade that I define as freedom and discovery. People in the 1960s were pushed to make things up, breakdown traditional norms, and be their authentic selves regardless of what that cost. Fashion, art, mental states, and lifestyles were re-defined… and things got weird and cheeky.

The running theme of the week was the importance of unmasking authenticity, whether in a brand or person. I want this near future to erase everything fake so that we can all live authentically with only the things and people we love and value.

Because FOMO no longer exists, where do you really want to be? What do you really want to see? Who do you want to surround yourself with? What do you stand for? This is a super weird time and everday is being made up.
